I'm very excited to share this piece! Caira needed some love during MerMay. I've really wanted to work on scale more in my art and I think this one came across fairly well in conveying the size, power and fear Caira brings with her in any circumstance. Especially when she's determined.

Anyone want to know a fun fact about the miss Caira, the gargantuan squid girl? Her bones are made entirerly of a desne cartilage. So, if you think you're safe inside a small hole, you might be surpised to find a 600 ton Caira working her way in behind you, or just breaking apart the cave entirely. Both seem to be happening here.

I very quickly wrote a short story to go with this tonight. My amazing friend also incorporated this scene into her own story (minus the divers). Go check it out here: fav.me/dcbw5jk
