A drawing of James Dean I did on some brown thicker paper stuff for my Illustration class I am currently in. Thought I would share with you guys. It's been keeping me pretty busy honestly so I haven't really drawn much for myself lately...So far it’s the best realistic picture I’ve done and I still don’t feel uber proud of it… I don’t really do them often though… It honestly looks better in person than scanned. Just believe me. (had a reference of course)

when I looked at this I couldn't help thinking, "James Franco kinda looks like James Dean." Then I did a google image search on James Franco and James Dean to verify if this was an accurate observation.

Bonka this is AMAZING!! I love the use of the brown paper for the mid-tone, the white (pencil? pastel? chalk?) highlight work especially around his cheeks and forehead. THIS IS GORGEOUS!!!!!

You drew him beautifully! I can tell you did a lot of construction work to get his face to match James Dean. It's a great likeness of him!
Did you find a specific picture and copy it from a photo, or did you have a bunch of photos you used as reference to make a unique portrait?

That is REALLY good and why i love it is because its a really vulnerable picture of him. We're all so used to seeing 'broody and cool' James Dean.
Also, its just been drawn really, really well too
