Wait, so can they coil their arms up in the game, or do they stay uncoiled? because I've seen some ARMS art from Nintendo with the fighters arms coiled with the masks on.
(I wonder what the fighters do when players aren't playing.)

They don't ever coil up their Arms in game, but it is shown in the canon art that they can. The masks are there to help them control it actually, so without them they have a hard time coiling their Arms back up! I like to headcanon that they can eventually control it without the masks as well, but it's different for everyone. They're always shown with their masks on even in the casual canon art.
