I had trouble learning how to tie my shoes when I was little too. That’s why my parents found this book that showed an alternate easier way to tie shoes. If I could, I would teach it to the poor boy.

I think the original is based on the last special of Ever After High, Epic Winter: the protagonist, Crystal Winter, was incapable of tying her shoes because it was a metaphor of her being a spoiled kid and during the special she had to learn how to do things by herself.
I think it's that because prior to this I saw this exact sequence only in a EAH themed fanart.

It might have been used in that, but the original was from a live action Japanese thing. Not sure if it was a show or a movie (probably a show), but I've seen the original. I just don't know what it was called.
