Description Looking at the use of gestation crates in intensive pig farming. These crates are about the same width and length of a pig's body and they prevent the animal from turning round. They are banned in the UK but are still used in some US states and other parts of the world.
-Acrylics and mirrored glass

Very emotive and tragic piece reflecting a grim reality. I like the detail you added, that the people can see themselves in the reflection of the bars, because we all suffer the same. "When we suffer, we suffer as equals. And in their capacity to suffer, a dog is a pig is a bear. . . . . . is a boy." ~Philip Wollen  The crates may be banned in the UK, but most meat sold in the UK still comes from the same factory farms. Smithfield, a US company recently bought by the Chinese, set up factories in Poland and Romania and exploit undocumented works and refugees for labor. But, still, no matter how much room our fellow Earthlings are given, we all feel pain and we all want to live free from harm.

Thanks I'm glad you noticed the mirrored glass and the meaning in it. That quote is one of my favourites. Yes that's the thing with the meat industry it's so immoral and seedy and it affects humans as well. Thanks for the links I'll make time to have a look.

Your welcome. It is a game the industry plays, like moving the cups around at the fairs so people don't know which one the hidden item is under-- shifting ownerships, shifting countries when present ones get polluted, hiring people who can't speak the local language, enacting ag gag laws to keep people in the dark. Thanks for speaking out against it and shedding light on carnism.
