Description
These are always fun to make. Each of these discs is created from a handpulled twistie of raku and intense black. They've been struck to produce shades of blue, purple, pink, green, and yellow. I've encased each twistie in a deep layer of clear encasement to really magnify the color and detail in these beads.If you'd like to see more of my work, feel free to stop by my Etsy store. Thanks! Yeah I think the glass is originally called iris orange. Doesn't sound nearly as cool as raku.

I thought raku was a firing method. Perhaps the term means something different for glass and ceramic.

Thank you! Raku is a color also known as iris orange. I'm assuming it's called Raku because it sounds prettier and you get somewhat similar colors to a raku firing. I'm honestly not sure who or why started calling it raku.
