He hated the way it melted in his mouth and ran sweet, tempting, over his blood-worn tongue. He hated the way you couldn't stop eating when you'd started...
The way it didn't shrivel up inside him because of what he'd done...what he intended to do...what he hated himself for...
Chocolate was bittersweet
You could eat it until your mouth tingled unpleasantly and yet still want more.
You could snatch it from a child and it would still taste good...yet bad in its goodness.
It rot the body: sugar burrowing through molars, trickling like acid into unbrushed cracks and melting teeth...sometimes for months...
It was bad. You grew fat on it. You ended up wanting more and more and more and more...
Gaara didn't want to be weak for chocolate.
He prefered blood.
