Is it safe for a human to explore an Obsidian Gaint's body ?

I wonder. Let's say you're an artist looking for some inspiration from nature. How would most obsidian respond if you asked if you could paint them after seeing something you considered awe inspiring? That or I wonder how they'd respond if you didn't ask but just tried to remain out of site while working.

If you could get their attention they probably would say "okay". They're supposed to be very neutral, and in turn don't like helping people out and giving them an unfair advantage (like if you were being chased by a giant naga they'd avoid saving you because, in their eyes, it'd be unfair to let the naga starve and it'd be more fair to not intervene) But painting one seems pretty harmless so I imagine if you could get within hearing distance of their ear they would be totally fine about sitting still.
If you didn't ask.... hmm. I think they probably wouldn't notice what you were doing and if they needed to get up and walk away they would without a second thought.

Well that's how they choose to live their life trusting in their own size and strength so it's their call. It does bring up the issue if some bacteria or virus developed so that it could become a deadly sickness to them would they ask for help. After all humans as a rather vulnerable bunch have lots of experience dealing with and being killed by sickness. I wonder if gnat faries could even turn out to be carriers of the illness. As for the naga. I swear in such settings I always wonder why the humans don't just conceal a small brick of arsenic or some other poison. Sure it won't save your life but perhaps you'll take your killer with you. Then again I am a very vengeful person and would probably want to bring something to attack the smooth muscle of the heart, another for the nervous system and probably something to prevent the blood from being oxygenated. Probably leave my family a diary detailing what poison I used in the event it didn't do the job in hopes of it helping people find one that will.

Well the nice thing about poison is if nothing else you can use it on yourself to avoid a painful death. If I'm not mistaken some soldiers and people did indeed pack small bottles of it for that reason. Well those wealthy enough to afford them. It's nice that some humans in your setting would consider such studies. Quite often the humans in such stories seem more like sheep that just accept their roll. As for the journal, thanks.
That may indeed be the case though i believe a humans small size might help in examination. With their isolationist way of living I imagine their parents pass down quite a few skills for survival. Such as what minerals serve to promote healing. They could of course go speak with the frost giants and look into magic healing but it seems like that would feed the frost ego quite a bit. Still, I do wonder how much isolation even an obsidian can handle. Speaking of humans as an animal how different is the chemistry of an obsidian's brain if they don't have the same desire for social interaction?

Whooaaahhh f**k... O_O and when ya realize one of'em is a giantess, that really puts this thing into some perspective. Yeah, maybe the smallest type, but still.
The phases one likely goes through in this kind of an encounter, such as seein' it, having disbelief... then knowing its there and then finally shock and awe... and all that before the big one really lookin' back. Then it goes up to eleven. XD
Seriously, didn't you describe Obsidians as beings that barely may give a look at anyone besides from watchin' out from steppin' on, making this even more overwhelming an experience? =3

Naw I prolly just messed up the size or something. I had to divide everyone's size by a decimal number so they'd fit into view without any distortion so my math may have been off.

Well, perhaps the easier question to ask is this: Are the two pictures the "same," just from a different angle? Or did the location of the human and giant change in relation to the obsidian giant's eye? That's probably the source of the distortion. The picture with the eye looks like they are waaaay closer than in this one.

Two different scenes. The eye one got corrupted for some reason so I redid it with this this morning.
