Description ((Mild Dark Content))

Over the years, accidents regarding megas started raising concerns among government officials. It was clear that they needed a solution to these random bouts of untold damage. This lead to the creation of designated size districts, where all current neighborhood would be converted into new ones that only allowed for certain people over or under specific size limits to buy a home there. However there was one glaring problem with this plan: the relocation of the current residents.

At first things went smoothly. Three of the four cities, Upton, East Side, and Westberg, were all divided up into a mix of Mega, Micro, and Standard districts with little pushback. All that was left was to simply relocate the Mega population from South Town and convert it into a Micro/Standard-only district. However as relocation began, the Megas of the district gathered in peaceful protest in the streets. Their demands were simple: They did not want to be forcible moved to another town. Many of them lived in South Town all of their lives, many of them preferred the location by the shore, and some of them just didn't like the idea of the relocation plan in general.

After weeks of peaceful protest, law officials were brought in to hurry the relocation process along, and very slowly over time the protest began to bubble up and turn into a heated debate. Arguments between the two sides began, which lead to shouting, screaming and then eventually angry foot stamping on the pavement... until a silence inducing *crunch* resounded through the atmosphere. During the heated debating, one of the mega protesters made a fatal mistake and planted her foot smack down onto a standard sized officer. She lifted her boot up and looked at the mangled mess of a man; her eyes wide open with regret and fear. But soon that fear turned into apathy, and that apathy turned to rage. "Why... DO we have to take orders from... them?" she muttered while eyeing the standard-sized law enforcement that lined the streets. She scraped the mess from her boot and chuckled to herself, "If you ask me it's a little... ridiculous."Β

At that moment, for the first time in a long time, a mega rationalized who really was holding all of the cards in this situation. It certainly wasn't the shin-height officers who lined the streets. Nor was it the government officials who were smaller than her finger nails. And sooner than anyone could even process what just happened her boot fell again, and again, but this time with purpose and this time with rage. Soon other megas joined in on the rampage, other megas chose to run, all the while officers began to retaliate. A full on riot had broken out, where innocents were wounded, buildings were toppled, and lives were lost. What precisely happened in the aftermath of the riot was mysteriously never officially documented.

Years later, little remains of South Town aside from ruined buildings and littered streets. The city is largely abandoned and serves as a gathering place for squatters, survivors, and shady characters who deal in shady businesses. The roads to the city have long been blocked off, but some adventurous drivers know a few shortcuts through the city to save gas and time on their way to the beach along the south shore, and social media channels that focus on exploring old ruins will often record expeditions into the abandoned town. For the average Joe though, the city sits on the horizon as an irremovable reminder in the Quad-City Area of the immense differences between the people of this world, and the danger that awaits them if they cannot figure out a way to live together in peace.

Years later, a new fourth city "Central City" was constructed in the center of Upton, East Side, and Westberg in response to the South Town Riot tragedy. A shopping/commerce-only district where Micros, Standards, Mega are free work and hangout together at their heart's content. Some fear that it'll be doomed to be the epicenter of a new tragedy, but others remain confident that the future of Central City looks bright!

South Town... Hm. It rings a bell, and I think I remember why it does, but I've gotta go hack and check. If it does though, I can kinda see why it'd be where this happened at...
Also ngl, the bit about "what happened in the Aftermath" being all mysterious and such has me particularly intrigued since idk, it indicates some sorta mystery interesting happening that's all hush-hush now.
And, tbh that last couple sentences have me sorta worried now. Something about them just reads as a like, foreboding "what could possibly go wrong *5 minutes later everything goes wrong*" sorta thing o.o

Well you're certainly on the right track! If I can push myself to finish MMML, South Town's lil mystery end up being quite important later on.

I have to say, it's good to see your darker side! The Toppling of Tiny Terror and Red Stain on the Red Carpet were great too!

That's always the trade-off; some of your usual fans might not like it, but the new fans you gain can balance it out!

I honestly don't mind the dark content at all. Especially since you do humor so well. It's good to have a mix and hope you sprinkle them more in the future. Also, great story. :3Β

I watch a lot of animation, which always has a darker side to it when you look closer. Wanted to do the same with something I made. Glad you enjoyed the story though.

And the depth continues to increase in MMML. Terrifying to think that Mega's can indeed just come to that disturbing conclusion about the balance of power. Hope all those sick fucks paid for what they did. Their initial anger into protests though makes a lot of sense. No actual way everything goes smoothly during this process when you're uprooting people from their family homes established for so long. It's heartening to see however that a district was established where all walks of life can interact. Kind of a symbolic resolution to the stain of past horrific acts. I imagine the future will be bright if for any other reason than the hope that people prefer to remain people and not become soulless monsters hell bent on asserting there size... however there will always be rotten apples! Thank you yet again for these great lore event additions for us to gain insights of the painful past of MMML. Keep up the great work.

Edit: It just dawned on me that is where Val's from... holy hell. No wonder people there have tempers and a thick skin.

Thank you for the in-depth analysis! Always a good read. ^_^

Yup that's Val's hometown. An abandoned ruinedΒ  city, which would spark some red flags. The downside to my slow updates is all the lil breadcrumbs I drop are hard to retain for most readers! In one of the early comics (where Tracy's apartment is knocked over) I had Tracy yell at Coach for showing up in her neighborhood and telling her that "you can't be here."

Absolutely agree with you. MMML is getting a lot of depth with these backstories. Really showing us what megas could do if they really wanted to.

Wow, these latest pics have been dark. Your comics are usually so light-hearted and funny. I don't know how to feel about this. It's good world building though.

The last few submissions have been 3 of the "famous tragedies" that Coach brings up in the last comic I made, but with an extra in-depth description. So naturally, they're going to be... tragic!

Precisely. Although this happened before Val's time, it still has had a lasting negative impression of anyone related to the town.

That's some riot. I can understand the mega's concerns. That said, I don't agree with stomping police officers to death. Even if it's normal giantess behavior in a lot of stories.

Indeed. Also even if megas decided to "rise up" as it were, unless something like invulnerability magic is involved it doesn't matter if you're 5ft or 500ft, a missile is a missile.

I kept it vague enough that you could infer that maybe the officers said questionable things to the megas. Either way everyone involved was far from perfect.

Glad to hear! Darker stuff will be few and far between. Hopefully I can do a comic that's a little unsettling around Halloween this year, but until then it'll be the usual silly tone.
