Erm, a bit of a different take on a tf yeah? yeahSo the story behind this one is kinda weird. I was planning out what I could draw yesterday during one of my classes, and I thought of how I could have a different take on a Blacephalon tf, only this time instead of being goofy as I usually would like it, I was thinking of something kinda morbid, like literally dying in the process e-e
So with Soleria as the victim (obviously ewe) and a solid sketch from yesterday, I got to using a pen when I could today and I ended up finishing ^^
Tf in of itself is such a fascinating idea. From thinking about it on an anatomical level to the various ways to interpret realism into the scenario. Guess some of y'all kinda notice, all these painful and sad tfs? Yeah, basically every work I've made independent from trades, those? They all are the result of me being such a realistic and practical person (might I add quite sadistic as well), and thinking of how I can approach something as versatile as tfs in a literal manner while keeping it on a fantasy level.
I mean, Soleria doesn't look like she's dead, right? Well, if she is, I'd hate to think that her body still moves, despite being motionless e.e Kinda reminds me when someone put salt on frog legs and they started moving *shivers* that's the vibe I get when I made those tiny shaking marks.
Either way, I love how this came out ^^ I'm quite proud of it, being able to kinda set up a mood n all. Let me know if anything really small catches your eye. You'd be surprised as to how little details can set the mood of a work even better...

I alway imagine TFs to be very painful. Even if that is not what I want them to be but it's just what makes the most sense to me.
I'm always a bit 'meh' about when the victim says "Ahh, it feels so good" - No, in reality this must be painful. Remember growing pains in your legs? Just think of it as more intensive and spread all over your body.
Oh yeah, love your realistic approach to TFs.
I guess you could say she is technically dead for a few seconds when her head detatches until the TF is completed where her body has now adjusted to live in such a condition.

yeah, I don't hate tfs that do that, but since I'm such a literal person, I want a realistic reason why tf these people doesn't feel the pain. Just saying "Oh, it's just magic!" NO, magic is not a good answer to me. But that's me overanalyzing something fictional and trying to apply real life logic into this.
And thanks ^^ I want them to convey realistic expressions. It's like the secret ingredient in my work, the relatability. Well, I mean to an extent. Why are my works so emotionally moving? It's because of the realistic reactions that I use, therefore making the viewer feel something for the victim other than "Oh, I would love to be in their position" Are you sure? Do you really wanna be decapitated? But that's my ramble -w-

Magic just sounds like wishful thinking.
Especially when people say "I wish that were me!" Well maybe you do but let's be real here, most of the time it is a drastic downgrade and you even lose your humanity.
And don't get me started on people who go! I'll be a shiny Lucario, Zoroark or Charizard. *groan*
No you are not! You are not going to be shiny you are not that special of a snowflake. Maybe you are going to be a, I don't know, a Dunsparce, Ratatta or an Oddish.
When you get TFed you usually don't have much options to decide your fate - At least in my book

Unless there's some kind of telepathy and/or "full dive" VR technology (like the NerveGear ), which is capable of completely blocking out real sensory information and replacing it with its own signals, in play.
This way, the transformee can feel no pain whatsoever!

P.S. Or, if biology of both stages allows it, good old painkillers. With some of them, you can get a surgical operation performed on you with little to no discomfort.

maybe for the purpose of demonstrating the changes themselves but conveying an actual story or message with tf involved and using those 2 things is a very poor idea

it was a bit more food for thought when it comes to tfs. It's the result of being such a literal person.
I love thought provoking ideas like this, and usually the outcome can hit kinda close to home, but it works out so nicely.

If you think "realistic" ia the way to go, just wait untill i get started finsh my story i have been working on, as its basiscly surgical TFs over a multi month or year time frame... ... ... Maybe we can save the Wingull one for Halloween. Do you think it would be better if we had it be the other Trial Captains like Kiawe and Mallow doing it instead? Maybe we could show Mallow setting up a camping stove in the background and she and the other Trial Captains could be having some sort of dinner get together with Lana unexpectedly as the main dish.
