bio: In his youth, Derek Monroe had been interested with the functions of the brain. After he had been rescued by veteran superhero Napalm, he devoted himself to fighting injustice. When he grew up, he went to Ivy League and studied science, engineering, and the law. After he graduated, he worked along side a Scandinavian researcher named Dr. Arno Bohra. After finding out Bohra’s plan to enhance his own body to outperform him and achieve world domination, he destroyed the machine that his former mentor created, resulting in an explosion that destroyed Bohra’s body, leaving only the latter’s brain alive. His telepathic abilities then began to surface, and he used them to fight crime as Mentallo Man! A few years during his career, his powers were stolen from him by Bohra, leaving him powerless. To make up for this weakness, he created a Psychic Resonator helmet to rejuvenate his powers. After learning that Bohra had formed a coalition of his past foes known as the Chaosmen, he formed a team of young heroes known as the power squad!
