I love this. Beautiful, tragic, and very on point with his character. I can see this as him standing in the blood of the people he's had to kill or had any hand in killing (in his mind) - obviously, including his teammates and sensei. It's the weight and presence of guilt and self-loathing more than the literal amount of blood.
