Description A group of Tahitian women is surprised by the pregnancy of that little "man". Dressed in men's clothing, Emilia is mistakenly identified as a man by them.
Emilia is the main character in my series of graphic novels about pirates. She is one of the few survivors of the terrible destiny of the Amazon Empire and fled to the Caribbean islands, where she married the infamous pirate Jean Bart. After a while, they made a trip around the world, looking for a place far from the British Empire.

Actually is that earlier visitors to Tahiti is to be believed it is unlikely that they would be surprised as it was claimed they could tell a woman by her smell?Β

Never heard about this before but I think such a claim is very dubious, to say the least.

You captured a very nice feeling of innocent curiosity and patience and welcoming interest on the part of Emilia. Well done.

In the story, the warriors of the island were about to attack the newcomers when they realized that Emilia was a woman and that she was pregnant. That calmed them immediately, as Polynesians never took women in their warlike incursions. This made the Tahitians believing that those foreigners didn't come with bad intentions.

The belly isn't shaped like a pregnant woman's really is, but I'm not going to be too picky--this is AWESOME. I saw some of your linework in the thumbnails and had to come over here and check it out. I'm really glad I did. Plus, I'm a big historical piracy buff, so now I'm excited to see more of this character
