geez, it's been a while, but I think it was mostly using hard/soft round brush, pressure sensitive size, opacity 80%, Flow 20%, using color select tool on the painting to blend the colors/shading/volume, using swatches for the original base colors

basically just setting the line art to multiply and doing all of the colors on a layer beneath it
