I imagine this guy being a character you'll meet in an RPG. He has a quest to offer, and sells lots of items. But! He only comes out at night, and in order for him to appear the first time, you must be out at night while carrying a lamp, lantern, torch, or other light source.

"Greetings, friend. I saw your beacon to summon me, so I came post haste. What's that? You were just trying to see the road? Well, it's all the same to me. We should still be friends."

Also one of the items he sells is scraps of cloth, but it's labeled as "baby food" because moths like to eat cloth :v
