those are the type of mushrooms I wish grew in my garden..instead of these ordinary..chunky..most-likely-will-kill-you ones

I have no idea about the edibility of these. Do the ones that grow in your garden have a sort of sponge texture instead of gills on the underside of the cap? If they do then they are probably boletes and are edible (though research carefully before frying them up)

I think..they have gills..they're not very attractive looking at all.. I was told by someone when I was young, when we used to go mushroom picking, that if you chopped them and they went brown they were poisonous..or was it not poisonous? it's probably a good thing I don't eat them then! I just like looking at them

I like to pick them and sell mushrooms, but otherwise I don't much care for them

That is indeed good if you can sell them! Mine get eaten by the birds or ripped up by the lawn mower.
