I did not mispell Duchess, Duchesse is the french spelling and in all honesty if i was going with noir i should use a french spelling .
chloe bourgeois as Duchesse Noir and unlike the other kwami swaps i think itd be more fitting if this was an au where adrien fumbled and lost his ring. leaving chloe to find it and plagg, already amazed at the prospect of being a partner for ladybug. Though plagg does worry what happened to Adrien and if this was on purpose to change. He keeps his mouth shut though.
I actually imagine her turning around at the start of the year after getting the miraculous and unlike with queen bee the ‘Cat got her tongue’ so to speak and she stays silent to have her own little secret no one but her knows and she gets to be one of the best heros with THE ladybug. She probably is more seen kind of wanting to be snarky and smug but then pauses and closes her mouth and looking away with a huff, shes more silent this year much to everyones confusion.
Duchess Noir is actually taller than Chloe not only due to the kitten heels but because she, like hawkmoth has done, altered a few inches taller so shes noticeably taller than ladybug. Because shes Chloe Bourgeois of course i had to add gold to her, and instead of a gold bell its a gold coin, for riches and a ribbon showing she is quite a well taken care of cat, a fancy one. I was going to go with her light pink lipstick color before i thought a dark red would fit better with the Noir theme without resorting to black lipstick because no way would Chloe EVER want black lipstick. While Queen bee had a black streak of hair i decided to make it a ribbon and mirror her long cat tail as well. The green stripes on her torso and down weren’t going to be green but the green added more accent to the highlight on the operatic gloves and helped her eyes and the accents come together more. i did have trouble figuring out a good balance of silver and gold for her but i’m pleased with how she turned out. The gold claws can also symbolize her being always more on the striking attack and bad at having a gentle hand in things also gold claws are just cool.
