Description Inspired by the nice look of the dense weave on this bag: [link] , I decided to make my own chainmaille bag. Not wanting to make it from 1/4" rings which would be infuriating to cut and may have made too dense of a sheet, I decided on a 5/16" ID ring. To give it a smooth feel, I cut all of the rings with a hacksaw. The finished piece is lovely to hold and the weave has just the right density. The bottom is a 45 degree seam assembled piece, my first use of that type of connection. The top is narrowed with standard circular contraction rings, and the tensioner is a mobius ball. I made the entire piece except for the bottom on the car ride up to Maine and working with chainmaille in a bumpy car is a huge test of patience.

Ring Stats:
14swg galvanized steel
5/16" mandrel
Cut with hacksaw

The photograph was taken with the bag stuffed with loose change.
