Description The image was acquired through Star Wars: Empire At War - Forces of Corruption using the Rise of the Mandalorians mod

This image is to help explain the state of affairs in my Star Wars fanfiction series, Star Wars: The House of Rook which is part of my Shadow Wars Universe and is not to be considered canon outside of that universe. It uses a blend of primarily True Star Wars Canon (Pre-Disney) and D-Canon (Disney Star Wars)

The main reason this ship is an upscaled Nebulon-B is to sort of explain away the fact that, in The Force Unleashed 2 video game, the Salvation is made to look much larger than the frigate sized vessel we're used to. A developer's mistake in getting the proportions wrong, sure. But one I decided to exploit and explain away in a way that would be canon.

Name: The Salvation
Class: Nebulon-B Cruiser (Prototype)
Manufacturer: Kuat Drive Yards
Affiliations: The New Republic, The Rebel Alliance (Formerly), The Galactic Empire (Originally, Formerly)

"That frigate sure seems a lot bigger than the ordinary Nebulons I've seen." "That just makes her one of a kind." - Galen "Starkiller" Marek and Rahm Kota regarding the Salvation.

History
In a bid to try and aid the Empire defend their convoys from pirate and increasing Rebel attacks, Kuat Drive Yards was commissioned to build an upscaled variant of the Nebulon-B Frigate, to make it an official cruiser classed vessel. What the Empire didn't know was that Rebel sympathizers within KYD were intending to hand the completed ship over to the Rebellion. The ship was finally completed in 1 BBY, shortly after the Battle of Atollon, and while taking the ship for its shakedown cruise using only a skeleton crew, Rebel fighters and transports dropped out of hyperspace, docking with the ship as the skeleton crew formally defected en masse to the Rebellion. It had been a near complete intelligence failure by the Imperials and KYD's own internal affairs.

After capturing the upscaled Nebulon, command of the vessel was handed to Jedi General Rahm Kota as his flagship, having the green markings added to the ship to match his lightsaber color. The ship was named the Salvation and would serve throughout the Galactic Civil War. Rahm commanded the Salvation throughout numerous engagements, but also served an important role in the months following the Battle of Yavin as it helped lead the operation to locate a suitable new home for the Rebellion. It was away conducting this mission when Yavin was eventually evacuated, and was again conducting this same duty three years later when Hoth was evacuated. The Salvation was assigned to attack an Imperial space station near Utapau to try and prevent Imperial forces from reinforcing the Imperial Fleet at Endor. The attempt failed but Endor was still ultimately a Rebel victory. The Salvation would also participate in the Liberation of Coruscant and in the Battle of Jakku. Rahm remained in command of the Salvation for several years up until circa 11 ABY when he stepped down to join Luke Skywalker at Yavin IV as an instructor at his Jedi Praxeum.

When Rahm was killed in 28 ABY defending the Jedi as they evacuated Yavin at the outbreak of the Shadow Wars, the Salvation's crew honored Rahm's sacrifice by tinting the hallway and room lights near every viewport a shade of green, to honor Rahm. The Salvation continues to serve as part of the New Republic Fleet, although there is talk of retiring the Salvation owing to the increasing difficulty in retrofitting her with newer technology. At present the Salvation is on a shortlist of Rebellion era ships to muster out of service and preserve as a museum ship.

Specifications
The Salvation is a rare prototype, an upscaled Nebulon-B frigate. In terms of length, she's two-thirds the length of an Imperial Star Destroyer, and equally as tall as an MC75 Star Cruiser. Her armaments make her a formidable warship and, circa 1 ABY, she was retrofit with a V-150 Planet Defender Ion Cannon, giving the Salvation a powerful weapon for bringing down enemy capital ships, however it required the Salvation rotate its entire hull to align the weapon with its target as well as divert all power from weapons and shields to power the ion cannon. A common misconception was that this ion cannon was the same one from Hoth, that the Rebels had secretly salvaged the weapon when this was not true. Echo Base did use an ion cannon of the same model but it was ultimately not the same weapon. There has been talk among KYD of producing new Nebulon Cruisers, nicknamed the Kota-Class, but nothing has been finalized.
