Yeah, must have been great to have been in the US in the mid '60s and to hire one of these out! . I just spotted it instantly amongst loads of other cars, those colours on the fastback just do it for me bigtime

Ford did a 40th Anniversary GT Falcon here in NZ and Australia last year. Same paint scheme. Very tidy looking, 5.4 litre Boss 290 quad cam V8, all the bells and whistles. Nice. Didn't Ford America do a Mustang in the same colours last year?

They did, and as good as it looked, I'd still have the original over it without question. I've actually been looking at Mustangs for over a month now on various sites as I'm considering buying a '66 fastback if I can sell my '56 VW bus. An original GT350H is way beyond most people's finances but I've come across a couple of very nice clones which look the business....

My favourites have always been the 69/70 Boss Mustangs, but over the past couple of years I've really come to appreciate the older fastbacks - less plastic and fancy wings and more classic lines. Beautiful cars.
There's even a Shelby/Hertz Mustang down here in NZ - featured in NZ Classic Car magazine a couple of years ago. I've still got the poster on my shed wall.

Muscle car prices have gone nuts all over the world. Mint examples of numbers-matching 1971 Ford Falcon Phase III GTHOs have been selling for well over half a million US dollars. Ten years ago you could probably pick up a good one for under $20,000.
