I think what really makes the picture is the gradient, and how the quad inhabits both areas at once.

Great capture, and the sky looks beautifully picturesque. Pity about the grain though, I read your comment about changing the ISO.
A little bit of lens flare also.

So am I i had to use a higher iso and shorter shutter speed to stop the planes from bluring out.

I used a polarizing filter to help improve the contrast in the sky. Thanks for the comment

hell yeah! I love airshows! you get a sore neck if you don't lie down though...
I love how you can see the remains of the other circles as well as the sharper, newer ones. (just curious - why are they partially blue?)

Its the sky showing through as the smoke thins out at least i think it is. I saw someone brought bean bags and i was instantly envious of them
