Their enemy is not in the picture. You should read the lyrics of Cherry Lip and see the video of Special by Garbage to see where the inspiration came from. Nothing serious anyway.

Well, first of all, search Google Maps for the location of Croatia. You will notice there is Italy right on the other side of the sea and all of those EU countries on the west. On the other side, you shall see the "less popular" countries on the east. Croatia is right in the middle of all this. And so is culturally. Trying to be developed and popular like those famous countries of the west, resulting of a mixed up culture of the Western and the Eastern Europe.
Now that you know where it is both geographically and culturally, you may guess it yourself what we have and what we have not. But I assure you tourists from all over Europe (Especially Italians, Slovenians, Germans, Austrians, people from Switzerland and Czech) come to my hometown every summer. Croatia seems to slowly starting to catch attention even to Koreans, I've noticed. Still most of people confuse it with Russia or think it's somewhere in South America, but recently more and more people seem to actually know about Croatia and even want to visit.

I had a look in Google, kinda near where I thought it was. for some reason I thought it was one of those creolised places near Spain but I was wrong ahah. But it does sound like a lovely place to live and visit
You may know a little bit about Australia, but its kinda got the UK's laid back with a bit of Irish spirit and the USA's trashy pop culture. Definitely a hot spot for Asians here too, but considering our multicultural origins they aren't at all out of place here.
Have you travelled many places?

Australia is an internationally famous place. But I wonder how many people know more about Australia than merely kangarooes and koalas. Would be cute to visit it someday (too expensive, though...)

Well, I've travelled a lot in my country, to various cities, but I went abroad only to Slovenia two times, for a concert, and now I'm living in Korea. I've been here over two years now, still ain't got no chance to visit home. It takes a lot of money.
But yeah, I have visited a few other places than Seoul, of course.

Ahah it's cool to hear what other countries hear about us hopefully people know about our other, more deadly animals too aha, even though koalas can get vicious during mating seasons and kangaroos can kick and punch pretty hard when they want.
As far as I know, Australia mostly markets itself as a holiday destination, with beaches and the outback and whatnot.
Lucky you to have lived so close to other countries, it was only like an hour's flight in any direction to a completely different culture ay? Here it's pretty much the same everywhere in Australia, it's just that some areas are more posh and others... Well... No one wears shoes ahah. Yah travelling isn't cheap :/
Where's next on your travelling wish list?

Ehehe, yeah, back in Croatia every European country is near. It took me like one and a half hour, or maybe two, to Switzerland, where I changed planes to go to Korea. But I didn't have much chance to travel around, unfortunately.... As you said, travelling is not cheap. And some countries, such as England, for example, require a visa or something. But I think it's okay if you go just as a tourist. Dunno....
I know about kangarooes, they really act like hooligans sometimes. I heard it many times on the news. They enter people's houses and break all the furniture, do a big mess for no reason, just like hooligans when their team wins. But I guess that doesn't happen in the city. I think things like these might happen in the countryside, isn't it?
I also know about aligators and the big big lizards. And maybe some dangerous snakes and a whole lot of interesting birds.
Btw, there was a song Australia, by the Manic Street Preachers, a nice one.

So.... My next destination wanted? Weeeeeelllll..... I've always wanted to visit Japan, but honestly I'm too scared to go, since the nuclear disaster of Fukushima. I might always visit some uninfected place on the South-East, but you cannot trust their food. I've seen many unbelievable documentaries, news, advertisement and even testimonies from Japan. They've really got a bad policy about radioactive food and all the safety. And I feel so sorry about that, because I love Japan too!
So, let's pick another destination - Europe! Ehehehehe
First, I'd love to visit my family and friends back home, man, haven't seen them for over two years and probably won't at least until graduation! And I'm merely finishing my first year.
Second, since I'd be in my hometown, I'd take a chance to bring my sweetheart (my boyfriend, Korean, don't wanna travel without him) to Italy. There are a few things I wanna see in Italy, such as the museum of Hugo Pratt (the creator of Corto Maltese) in Venice.
Next, I'd like to take a tour to the U.K., learn some Cockney in London (England), meet the Manic Street Preachers in Blackwood or Cardiff (Wales), acquire some accent in Scotland and hear some music in Ireland.

There are many other places I would love to see, but I wanna start with these.

That's such a luxury with everything so close, really! Australia is 5 hours from anywhere. Except south Asia like Singapore and Papua new guinea. I definitely think it's best to travel in the younger years, even if it risks financial problems. My parents are in their mid fifties and have probably done most of the travelling they've ever done in their life in the last 5 or so. But I'm told travelling really does give a lot of perspective on the world and life in general, which is what I really would like i'll be going to America at the end of the year, as soon as I graduate, to meet one of my best friends in the world. We met on dA, and we've waited a very long time for it!
Ahaha I can't say i've ever heard of a kangaroo doing that in the suburbs. I know possums to be a nuisance, maybe out in the country the kangaroos don't mind breaking and entering.
We have crocodiles here rather than alligators, pretty scary things! Yeah goannas are all around the place, Australia is kinda renowned for its overpopulation of things that can kill you
I'll have to check that song out! Is the Manic Street Preachers one of your favourite bands? I've never heard them before

Ooooh Japan! My sister just got back from there this week, she stayed with a small group for a month, did a lot of the tourist attractions and anime-related things. She didn't say anything about radiation though, sounds like you know a but more about Japan than she does
I could honestly settle for anywhere in Europe. It's such a fine looking place! Most of all I'd love to see Germany, Finland, Greece and Sweden.
It's such ashame you can't go back to your family any time you like. How are you enjoying your studies?
Definitely bring your boyfriend along, I'll bet your parents are eager to meet him! Plus travelling alone can be daunting, though the last 2 times I went on a plane it was by myself. You've got a lovely journey planned out by the sounds of it
Oh man, I don't tell many people but it freaking adore the British accent. I used to absolutely hate it but since I met my friend Connie on dA I kinda developed a thing for it. Of course while nothing happened between me and her, I've since moved on to other people with delicious British accents you'd like to meet your favourite bands? I say go for it! I'd be a bit superstitious about me meeting my own favourite bands, mostly because I'd be afraid of their constant lack of sobriety ahaha

Definitely go and travel see the world!

I agree travelling in a young age is better, because you've got a chance to develop in an open minded person full of interesting stories to tell once you grow old. But times have changed and nowadays travelling like Kerrouac, by hitch-hiking requires immense bravery. Especially for a girl like me. Besides that, in Korea they've got no hitch-hiking culture or tradition... I definitely plan on visiting other countries, as I told before, at least Italy once I manage to visit home. But my parents have already met my boy. We've known each other on the internet for a long time, but we've fallen in love once we really met and it was in my hometown, as he decided to go there for a trip. Koreans are somehow attracted to the idea of travelling Europe and before Croatia, he had been to Germany once. And yeah, my parents like him because he's polite, kind and a clever intellectual young man. His major even suits with my father's, which makes him kinda proud of my choice of boyfriend. eheheheh You know, my father is a computer science teacher and my boyfriend is studying for a Phd. in robotics. Too bad they can't speak the same language, though. I bet these two would have a lot to talk about.

Luckily there are not many dangerous animals and insects neither in Croatia nor in Korea. Well, in Croatia we do have the black widow and some tiny insects that can enter your skin and act like parasites, but it's not like you can stumble on them that easily and such accidents are not so often. And the tiny insect thing can be cured too. The most dangerous animals in Korea used to be tigers, but they're extinct as far as I know. Nowadays it's the wild forest pig, but that's only in the wilderness. Actually I was a bit scared of that fact when my honey and I were travelling by bicicle. We've crossed mountain roads and I think we've heard some weird sounds.... ^_^"
There are wild pigs in Croatia too and wolves as well, but there too, only in the forests.

Eh, my studies... I'm done with my first year. eheh And with a quite high grade too. Studying in Korea keeps me very busy. The lessons and scheduals are not that hard, but there's a lot of homework to do. Really a lot. But the good thing is, the whole summer and the whole winter are lesson-free. We've got long holidays here.

I like the Brittish accent too. I used to not care that much back in Europe, but in Korea "American" is the mainstream and the default, but as a "proud European" I feel the need to preserve my Europeannes and go for Brittish English. Afterall, it is called "English" language, not "American". But then, you know, I tend to grow feelings of soft rebellion to the mainstream and the majoritie's taste and such, so I'm always attracted by some minor things as I find them unique and special. This is why I actually prefer the Celtic English accent better. But that is an accent that I can only admire. If I wanna acquire it, I'd have to spend years there in Scotland, Ireland or Wales.
And yes, Manic Street Preachers are one of the rare mainstream bands that I really like so much. I'm not that much into celebrities, I prefer the underground scene, but there are exceptions to everything, right? The Manics are great celebrities in Europe and they've got a very interesting biography. They've started at the end of the 1980s, but they're more like a 1990s band, although they still play today too. I like them because they're different from other rock stars and because their music is so addictive, but their lyrics are intellectually challenging. Also, they've managed in their young days, as four boys, to adopt a feminine glamour without looking funny. Now it's a different story, they've got old and they're just making music, but their start was worthy all of the attention.

I'd love to meet my favourite bands, just as most people do. But I don't push it so hard, because I'm kinda shy. I don't seem like such a kind of person, though. Because I don't like being shy, so I fight with it well. You know, being shy might be cute, but it makes life difficult, you know, lack of social interaction and stuff.

So yes, as soon as I become financially stable a little bit, I'm gonna travel around with my boyfriend. We both like travelling and, as I said before, I have to visit home sometimes too.

Thank you!
Finally someone who noticed.

I was inspired to draw the character described in Cherry Lips, but I kind of wanted to draw Shirley Manson as well and Special is my favourite music video from Garbage. And, since I like the idea of women being strong (not because I'm a woman as well, it's more because I'm tired of the pathetic weaky-cutey cliche ), it turned up into a super heroes' drawing.
