Thank god they're making the legs skinnier... I didn't like how basically everypony had to wear boots or their feet would just look... weird.

I didn't even mind the boots so much, but it just looked weird on characters with normal shoes or sandals.

Are the legs skinnier in the second movie? I haven't noticed that.
Though, I did once hear something about an animation error with Derpy in the first that had her legs too thick.

The first movie had those really thick lower legs for everyone, probably to invoke the look of pony legs, which looked fine as long as the characters were wearing boots (as most did) but looked pretty odd on characters that didn't (like Derpy).
The sequel slimmed down those legs quite a bit, at least for the Mane 6 and Vinyl. We'll see if some of the other characters got the same treatment once the movie is actually out.
