brilliant idea!! but, at the same time it'd be kinda scary (and adventurous) for the child in question and how would her friends react to having a child as the Herald. She prolly wouldn't be Inquisitor though, ya know, being 9 years old and all.

Yeah, I think the story would change slightly to become more about the inner Council and companions becoming a protective surrogate family that forms to protect, aid and guide the Herald.
Of course I also think the only sort of child who would survive the stresses of events would be a tough little cookie who has very strong survival skills, so maybe she wouldn't immediately trust adults and part of the course would be the Inquisition gaining her trust too.
