Description Yeahhh... so... this was last week's Character Animation assignment, which was the most unrealistic assignment of all---animate a guy pushing a rock up a hill (as in, Greek mythology's Sisyphus) for THIRTY SECONDS... IN A WEEK.

Needless to say, nobody finished in time, and I wasn't no exception.

I shot it early in the morning right before class so the timing's off, it's unfinished and there's some huge weight problems (namely when he takes a huge step backwards, WTF happened there I have no idea). I think that except the tiny part in the middle where his feet slide, it looks like complete utter crap, I hate it and I won't ever finish it.

I'll scrap it later.

Ha! thats great! 30 seconds in a week? Welcome to my uni. lol I think my sack animation was 30 seconds+ and that was done in a week, then we had a week to clean it up and colour it. Crazy.


I like what you have done though, really nice actions. Shame you didnt finish it...maybe you should have made it such a struggle.

I actually did this in two days only---which I suppose is great for the time spent on it. I just don't like it though, and I still got an 8 out of 10---the mark actually discouraged me from fixing it. I think the teacher could've been tougher on me... bleh.

Yeah I know it's stupid. The teacher marks it on first viewing, too. When I was in college we'd have percentages for everything---timing, volume consistency, cleanups, arcs, even dope sheets... in university only a few select people even USE dope sheets. It's absurd.

Yeah, I know, but thing is---we're not supposed to be prepared for industry in my program, we're supposed to be filmmakers. The problem is, most people think they'll be fully prepared for the industry also... thank goodness I went to college in that field beforehand, so I have both.

But yeah. Dope sheets are a must anyway, for industry or independent filmmaking... I don't know why they don't teach us to use it. (Most people who use it right now do because I showed them hahaha.)

super ca, j'aime! Cette histoire la, mon prof de peinture l'utilisait en analogie avec le travail de l'artiste, qui doit d'oeuvres en oeuvres pousser sa roche le plus haut possible dans la montagne de son art. recommencer du bas de ensuite, avec comme seule motivation ce que l'effort prΓ©cΓ©dent nous a apprit.
