Nothing too fancy here... I was trying to draw a decent shot of Magus/Janus Zeal, from Chrono Trigger, at least once in my life, haha. I wasn't too inspired for a pose, namely because he's a very clichéd character when you really think about it---now come on, he's got a scythe, and anybody who's got one's gotta be clichéd. (I have a character who has one, oops. I should fix that.)

I also just couldn't get myself to draw his utterly ugly costume design. He's got some sort of orange-bronze type bikini briefs, with gloves and boots to match, for crissakes. He also got confused on the way between the design and the sprite making---for some reason, Akira Toriyama's original rendition of him has a red cape, but in the game he was stuck with violet. I'm always wondering what happens in theses cases, like why FF6's Terra's hair mutated from blonde to green from paper to computer... and why Link in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past has freaky pink hair.

Anyhow---I stuck with the violet cape because it made him less Vincent Valentine. And better that way.

Gradually getting better at painting with Photoshop... but still. I'll have to get my hands on Corel Painter soon. Money money.

(Title's actually a song from the CT soundtrack, but I can't remember which one... Magus's theme had such a boring title I couldn't use it. It was called "Magus's Theme".)
