Mermaids always bring me back to being young, popping in a Disney princess cd and watching an episode of that little mermaid show. It was the one that introduced the deaf mermaid and she went along on an adventure with Ariel to get their wishes granted. There’s one scene that was burned into my brain at that young age- when they got captured by the killer crabs. I was sitting there as a child wondering why I *really* liked that scene. I had a lot of those experiences as a child where characters would be kidnapped and I would lowkey not want them to be rescued. Turns out I was always a little freak.

So anyway this art is my little homage to the confused feelings of my childhood self.
