Paean and her Fire Sprite keep the fires in the furnace steady (aka actually doing her job for once) while Foster (The Forgemaster) works on a piece of a Viking style shield for himself. He's been fighting in the Rukaan Arena using medieval-style armor which most of Bontebok Estates uses (for cultural and historical reasons rather than practical ones) because it is readily available to him but most of his opponents use the Viking style more appropriate to the breed. He's making himself some Viking/Norse style armor to be a better match both aesthetically and in terms of matching his opponents' armor's strengths and weaknesses.

R-0176 Gulbrand watches because he's too curious to leave anything alone. He's quite fascinated with the way Foster uses tools, and can occasionally be seen trying to imitate him by using his rack to lever, hammer, spear, puncture, pry and dig at things in an oddly deliberate way.
