Description This was my last good shot from Dumas before the storm started to dissipate and recycle. It would continue to move northeast and drop two more tornadoes during the night near Stratford, TX. And, of course, we were on them, and nearly got caught up by them. This was one of the few times we were grateful to have radar at our disposal because it allowed us to get out of the way.

Some post processing done in Photoshop to bring out the edges of the clouds.

Yes, that would be me! I am a storm chaser and proud of it.

Let's see... This was the Dumas, TX storm, so it was pretty decent. It didn't put down a huge wedge like the Bowdle, SD storm did, but it did put down for small tornadoes from day into evening along with a funnel cloud. It was a pretty cool storm to chase, and there were a lot of people on it. Thankfully it wasn't crazy like Leedey was.

Yeah, thankfully. It looks much worse in the picture, maybe because of the darkness and the clouds which you cannot say how big they really were or how close you were to them. Anyway, it doesn't change the fact the shots a pretty amazing and you did a wonderful job!
I like this video on youtube:

What's really exciting and a little bit sad is this one:

I think that would be a moment when I couldn't sit in the car and wait anymore.
Have you ever seen the movie Twister? I loved it when I was a teenie!
Have a great day!

Oh, Jim and Reed's videos... Yes, I've seen both of them many times and I can never get enough. Reed annoys and irritates the shit out of me, but I'll deal with him until he becomes the downfall of storm chasing. Then I think a bunch of us normal chasers might go after him with pitchforks or something... He gets good video though, I'll give him credit for that.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen that movie! I'm surprised I don't actually own a copy of it... LOL! Probably a good thing because I love it and I hate it at the same time. So many inaccuracies I've found while watching it annoys me but the movie is just so much fun to watch!
