Description Weird story... I have always liked Petey Piranha, even made fan characters of him, but I never actually drew him. xD Weird. I think Petey is a very likable character excluding the fact he likes to throw up sludge. [link] <-- I must say though, in Mario Power Tennis he moved a bit girly. That made me even mistake Petey to BE a girl but thats just his plant instincts. He can't help himself from being graceful if he IS a plant. Enjoy!

Fun fact: Petey's gender actually varies by region. Male in the English and Italian versions, female in Spanish and French, and gender-neutral in German.


Edit: Actually, inΒ Spanish, PeteyΒ is male in most games but female in New Play Control: Mario Power Tennis, sharing her French name. And in Super Mario-Kun, Petey is a female, being the mother of several Piranha Plants.

yeah Petey! Wooo!! I loved this guy x10 ever since ~Mariobro64 's comics XD

really love how smooth and well-rounded you have the texturing/shading on this - fits him very well, what with his smooth texture maybe that's just the GCN render talking, but that's pretty much how I imagine him... love how soft his head looks, and pretty spots are pretty!! cool petals - nice and bouncy and bright, just like any awesome flower should have oh, but the BEST details are on his green plant-ness-y parts XD THEM LEAVES!! DAYUM!! really cool pattern down the spine, and a sweet texture to spruce it up all-around! I love how you shaded his right arm in particular, looks very natural and it makes it come together all that better so yeah - rockin'!! oh, and his tum-tum so cool - a really great mix of effects - wouldn't have thought to put on all thsoe other gradients under his spots, but it looks UNBELIEVABLE!! and the shines help a lot, too! oh, speaking of shines - those lips're VERY nicely done indeed, sis! I like how managed to work in those darker vertical lines!

the background is just too cool - GREAT sand, just awesome!! I dunno how you do it, but it looks better than real sand, seriously and the way the waves roll onto that beach is perfect damned BRILLIANT spray and foam, really evenly laid-out and neat-yet-random the colours are real light on the water, too, which is good I like the little bits of plant you added on the beach - just adds that little more colour that the background needs

oh, and DAMN, almost forgot the sky!! your sun's a classic, bright, flarey sun like always, which fits a Mario Sunshine-type scene really well - but the best thing here is the clouds... because they're so soft and fluffy, almost look like the skybox from SMS!! except more subtle XD overall, this pic kicks ass!!

I see what you mean, but the I really like the human characters and also I kinda feel I separate myself from the rest of the crowd when I draw the human girls. If I draw the mainstream characters, I would feel somewhat "generic"(not to offend no one) u understand?

Hmm I see what you mean. But that is their fault to assume such things with you. That is why I draw characters that are popular along with characters that are not so popular. I look at em all the same way. Besides, I do like some of the characters you did. I am also a pretty big fan of Plum. She's awesome!
