My fave Doctor. It's my opinion that he brought a kind of quiet dignity to the role of The Doctor, while still managing to retain a kind of subtle humour. An undercurrent of humour, if you like.

Very true, Pertwee was renowned as being a comedian at the time but said he wanted to play the Doctor straight. And it worked very well as a contrast to Troughton and laid a template for future actors/Doctors.
