Guess what: I'MINTOIT!

August is my OC for the show Ok. K.O. which, if you haven't seen, is incredibly sweet and fun and overflowing with explosive action.
I'm very drawn to the world these characters live in. It's sort of apocalyptic but in a very mundane sort of way.

Anyway, since I love Professor Venomous and Fink so much (I'll actually be going as Fink for Halloween this year) I decided I wanted my OC to be closely connected to the two of them.
Enter: August, Fink's mom.

August and Venomous grew up together. In his world of strict study and classical influences, she was his wild card: always pulling him away from the lab to joyride stolen vehicles or prank unexpecting heroes-in-training. They were best friends, and supported each other through everything.

At age 17, August's natural talent for precise destruction was recognized by the rebel leader of the Villans' Evil Air Force (V.E.A.R). She was recruited and spent the next five years learning to pilot all manor of military-grade helicopters. Her specialty was the AH-64 Apache and UH-60 Black Hawk.

Through her training, August became especially skilled with assault rifles and hand guns, and gladly volunteered to act as a security escort for Professor Venomous once he was recognized as a professional villain. For two years they worked together side-by-side. With the Sky-Rat guarding him, Professor Venomous was untouchable.

War broke out in the Danger Zone and August was called to assist the V.E.A.R on the front. Her leaving was a matter of great debate between August and Venomous, but in the end her need for adventure and reckless excitement pulled her away.

Three years passed and the war raged on. Venomous lost all contact with his childhood friend until she showed up one night on his doorstep, slightly shaken with a new-born baby in her arms, but still very much the spitfire he once knew. Her baby girl, only a few days old, was named Fink.

He welcomed them into his home and gave them shelter. For a few peaceful weeks everything seemed perfect. But August had defected from the Danger Zone and was now on the run from the V.E.A.R. They knew their sanctuary was destined to end.

She never explained to Venomous why she did it, let alone said anything about Fink's father or what she had experienced while on the front. But he could see that past her strong exterior, his friend was frightened by something -always looking over shoulder, always waiting for an impending attack.

The night before August died, she must have known what was coming, for she sat with Venomous and spoke with him late into the night. Mostly they talked about her daughter and the life she wished her to live. August wasn't foolish enough to say to him, "if something happens to me..." for she knew he would try to stop her if she did. Instead she chose her words carefully and said simply, "I wish Fink could have a father like you."

She left early that morning and was reported dead the next day. Her last act, it seemed, was one of the only times in her life in which she didn't take chances. Prior to her leaving, August had drawn up a will and left her child in the custody of her closest friend, the only real family she ever had.

Anyway enjoy for now, I'll hopefully be able to draw more art for her later on. We'll see!
