It reminds me a bit of old ads for Chevrolet’s, Chrysler’s etc. the shine is really cool.

Thanks! Was working on fictional names for guns in my writings recently which prompted me to draw the Gewehr 98.
Thus it's called the Möllhausen Gewehr 78 (1478), which after doing the research into gun names it never hit me how literal the names are and most are just called model this and model that. Plus it feels more accurate in a sense not to change the name that much since everyone was counterfeiting and manufacturing guns especially in the late 18th and early 20th century. The history behind the Smith & Wesson Model 3 kind of inspired this train of thought, which when sold to the Russians they just straight up canceled the contracts and just made it themselves, same thing the Spanish and everyone else.
Totally I understand what you mean, bought a Carcano carbine about a month ago and the wood was almost black making it rather hard to take photos of it due how aged it was. So in a way wanted the image to be about as bright and colorful as my other gun drawings.

Thanks, I know haha trying to get it looking right was super hard as I needed to find the right references to get some of the details right, though I was mostly spitballing it most the time in terms of size like the sights are super all over the place.
