Oh a bit of a distraction! Everyone finds a way to cope with something, its a very living creature way of doing things once the danger is past, being kids also helps, they all trying to feel safer now even tho they lost a few of their own. When the time comes they shall be more stable emotionally once they decompressed a little bit. Most people tend to not handle trauma very well tending towards closing themselves off and keep to themselves both emotionally and physically which is the wrong thing to do, people, either pony or human I guess, are social animals, ponies more so they work in a sort of herd mentality, unlike Zebras in real life who are a every zebra for themselves type when something dangerous happens, serious watch a documentary zebras abandon those of the herd to predators while the rest flee, horses/ponies are more social and protect the herd type thinking, also tends towards following the head alpha horse.

Nova and Patchwork are around 8-10, Patchwork being a year older. Iron Sights and Amber (panel 3, right) are more like young teenagers (+/- 13). Really it's hard to say. I'm not a developmental psychologist so I'm afraid to assign an exact age, lest they act "too smart" or "too dumb" for their age. I guess I've been doing alright so far in portraying their childish ways
