There used to be a person called MegaTigerTron here on DA who had an inspiring and quite promissing gallery.Once upon a time I fell in love with a certain cartoon of a female he'd done so well that I felt an urge to do MY OWN VERSION of her my way, as a study AND confirmation of certain approaches to having figures laid out and methodically done through structural construction the way animators and responsible cartoonists draw ... I reckon.
MTT's page is no more, when I click the link I've provided before when I published these WIP steps separately in my
, DA says 'File Not Found'. He's apparently deleted his account...... so fat chance with comparing his original and my effort...
Anyway, this is my respectful way of attempting NOT 'to improve' anybody's art but to learn every now and then from certain artists who inspire me so much that I need to study their efforts.
Printing A4-sized paper used with red, blue and graphite pencils... and if I remember correctly, orange lead pencil was also used or...
Ah, never mind.

See, I love to use stick-figure or a simplified skeleton when I deal with figures but in this particular case I've avoided the stickman approach and went straight for the shapes. Sometimes it's The Thing to do but I'd always recommend to go for the skeleton breakdown for the best results - of course with easilly erasable colour pencil with graphite one over it.

The example of what I spoke about is in those 4 stages of the MegaTigerTron babe I've done.
As soon as I track down some of my old sketchbooks I'll scan and post the page with my studies of Ty Templeton's comics figures with skeleton sketching comparisons vs cyllindrical shapes and similar.

Wow, this illustrates the power of the construction technique perfectly! She's certainly not what I would call muscular though, so not sure why you featured it in the FemaleMuscle group. However, I'm glad you did, otherwise I would never have seen it!

El Tigre - as I called him - is a good cartoonist and was supportive of my study of his character. Pity that he's left... many amongst us not being in the upper echelons of the celebrity league tend to have crisis every now and then -- some persist and prevail, some give up and leave.
