It's been a while again since I inked and it's even been a longer while since I used a quill to ink. Most of figure was done with quill except for the hair. I can't resist inking David Finch's work, it's so much fun working on this and I'm such a huge fan of his work. I suck at quill but once in a while I have to do it before I completely lose it.Related content

I used a sable brush, either a W&N series 7 or Raphael 8408.

It is pretty much up there with the Series 7. I'd say they are tie in overall performance. Scott Williams was the one who recommended it to me. I buy whichever one is on sale.

I see, sable brushes are pretty expensive so if one would be but on sale and had the same performance as the other a lower price would probably make it pretty easy to choose between the two
