Sabin was born in a poor region of the Czech Republic and contracted polio as a young teenager. This withered her left leg and forced her to walk on crutches however, she achieved success as a teacher and had the opportunity to move to the UK. she taught here for several years but was hit by a car on a night out with colleagues and this resulted in the amputation of her right leg above the knee. now forced to use a wheelchair, she has adapted well to her new situation.
