I love all your kaiju design and Anguirus is my absolute favourite. Giving him a crocodilian look really adds to the realism factor of the character and the idea of this could or did exist. With the Monsterverse giving kaiju more realistic and prehistoric depiction, if Anguirus is every added (hereβs hoping) I want him to look exactly like this.Β

I keep wanting to comment and commend you on your high time references such as rodans otachi design, and the kapprosuchus from primeval im gonna assume in this case, but i keep seeing that you mention in the the description haha. Excellent work all around

If they make a sequel for Β SHIN GOJIRA ... or in the Legendary Pictures Godzilla Universe (such a long name) if Anguirus gets to appear ... I really would love him to look like this. Β Β (croc look)

Thanks for the high praise. The more I learn of these earth bound prehistoric crocs, the more I like the idea myself.

This reminds of the Kaprosuchus from Primeval.

I based the body on one of those. I thought the "boar croc" was a nice body to build on.

My anguirus is a omnivore like triceratops. Great drawing

I thing a kaiju need to be an omnivore to sustain their mass. They even should be able to devour inorganic materials. Like Godzilla, for example, he's a well known radiovore, but it ever shown to hunts whales

Triceratops ate meat and plants? And thanks for the compliment.

No. He just doesn't know his dinosaurs. Trikes ate plants. They had beaks, instead of teeth, just a fun fact.

No worries and while they did have a beak they also had teeth for grinding plant matter way in the back of their mouths.
"TriceratopsΒ had a battery of teeth which were shed and replaced over their lifetime like a prehistoric conveyor belt system. The tops of their teeth formed a continuous surface, which acted as a pair of giant prehistoric scissors - perfect for cutting vegetation."Β

I like the agility concept. Now, there is one last thing for me to say:
Hey, Anguirus!

Nice revamp on one of my favorite kaijus. It has a very cool look and actually quit strong but also very mobile and yeah, that tail would do a much better job that Anguirus's original tail. And very interesting that you used Kaprosuchus as a base for him, a beast I always found a totally bad mean looking one ( I guess he also appeared in a ,,Primeval" episode, right ? ).
Still, really cool design !

Ive only seen the first 2 seasons of Primeval, I discovered Kapro in an issue of National Geographic. I wanted to get away from the ankylosaur look that others often go for with Anguirus and do something that I felt fit the spirit of him better.Β

Alright.
And it wasa very good decision, it's always good to try new things instead of just the same thing.

I would have never thought to incorporate a crocodile into Anguirus's design. Oddly enough, it works.

Sure. I usually think of a Ceratosaur, but a crocodile works perfectly.

Sorta, Im using a prehistoric croc (boar croc, forget the latin name at the moment) and one of the ankylosaur family. I always thought Anguirus face looked croc like.

you're very welcome it was a risky choice but you really pulled it off in my opinion, I wouldn't actually approach that things head like xD
