You can buy a print of Ramaz here: [link]Without doubt one of the high points of my career so far: being asked to design a planeswalker.
In the notes I was asked to design this dude with the notion that he's an insane shaman and his colors were blue, green and red.
That's pretty much all I can give away about this guy without dropping a bunch of spoilers on you.
As with the other pieces for Magic 2014 this was a large format and I had little time, so for the background I did some composite paint-over shenanigans with stock images.

Jegus, the level of detail is stunning. From the snow peppering the rocks to his left, to the leather on his outfit, to the waterfall in the background, to the wiry trees in the distance, to the structure embedded in the cliffside, everything looks photographic in quality. Wonderful, wonderful work!

Seriously man, how do you even do it? My eyes tell me "the detail is definitely hand crafted!" my mind tells me "don't be silly that's impossible!"
Your last few works are realistic on a level I don't think I've ever seen before. If you take prints and show them to random people on the street I bet you, allot of them won't even believe those are not pictures.
Kudos man, you are on that "whole another level" everyone keeps talking about.

The detail is so amazingly good in this that it looks like a photograph. Even zooming in, I have a hard time telling it's painted. Honestly one of the best photorealistic pieces I've ever seen.

Well I was wondering if you ever use a 3D model during your painting process. As a base maybe?
