Your furries are incredible. I'm just trying to break into this genre now and I see a red panda as my fursona.
I can't draw animals very well so I can only hope to draw like you some day.

Done classes. Just keep practising Im doing. I like seeing and talking with any other artist I can to get new aways or improve way of drawing. Plus can i get a request of a drawing for you?

Thats good to hear! I've seen miracles that were a result of hard work, so I believe you're already doing what you need to do; I'm not sure if there's any tips I can offer that would be different than the usual (unless you happen to be doing 3D work). I like to take requests, but unless there's $$$ involved the odds are extremely slim I will actually do anything.

Well then nvm i havent set up a way to pay online yet. I'll be wathcer for more of your work

Still, I wouldn't mind hearing what the request was going be. There's still the chance that I could be inspired by the idea and do it for practice and a portfolio piece.

Well I was going to ask if you could do an anthro fuury (maybe a fox) drawing close up of the face with classes.
For 2 resons. 1 is so i have an idae on how that works i cant seem to get it to look right when I do it. 2 is to have it as the picture so I dont just have this empty smiley face. On a side note what a good program to edit scanned in pictures to upload to this site?

Of course you realize (I hope) that you can do a whole lot more than just dream about it, but first you need to really examine WHY you want to draw; get a sense of what it is that you get out of it. I'm sure you've already heard all this before, but just in case you haven't, I'll say this: If you decide that it's worth it, then it's only a matter of whether or not you're willing to put yourself through the slow and painful process of learning on a progressively deeper level. Have some self-discipline. Be willing to do the boring things like putting yourself through college and doing a veritable ton of live figure drawing. It's fantastically beneficial to learn from the more formal sources to get a true foundation; it will then translate directly into support for whatever styles you want to do. At any rate, if what I see on your profile is accurate, you're already wayyy ahead of where I was when I was your age, and I don't think youβll have any trouble surpassing me. Of course Iβm still learning, and I never feel like Iβve gone as far as I can go.

Thanks. I haven't studied. I'm too lazy of a hobo to do so, even though i have complete access to anything i want. i wouldn't know where to start looking tho.

Wow, your artwork is amazing, did you ever take a life-drawing class? Im taking one this semester and am hoping it helps me out a bit, I would love to hear how youve learned to draw the bodies so very well.
π: 0 β©: 1
BradyDalton In reply to ArdorInferi [2007-01-31 06:48:03 +0000 UTC]
Unfortunately the best I have right now is studying from photographs, I never have taken a class. So, the two important things I don't get are drawing from live 3-D, and guidance from an instructor. My only 3D experience is from trying to absorb things I see and practice drawing in my mind, and my instructor is a memory for everything I hear and harsh self-criticism... (yep, still got a loong way to go)
It will be very valuable to draw from life, and not just draw but practice your technique and study, absorb, and memorize and try to apply it then study it again... and then there's learning what inspires you and learning from other styles and trying to apply what you learn, and also experiment with things outside the scope of your normal habits and preferences..
I think you'll probably do quite well.
