So a little after her debut in the Loguetown arc, Usopp develops a crush on Venus, although she's 4 years older. This is why it's one-sided... for now, anyway. His crush would be as well-known as Sanji and Zoro's rivalry.

But he's not perverted like Sanji. He cares deeply for her, protects her at all cost, and won't stand for someone making her cry. He WILL go after the culprit.

After training for two years, his feelings for her are still intact as ever, and they even start to become mutual shortly before they reunite.
