Garath kinda wandered into the farm one night at least that was the official story the two cousins that ran the farm told everyone. In truth, however, neither of them really knew where he came for or how long he had been there. He was typically a loner, even with his brilliant purple coat he was seldom seen. Leafbreeze tried to bring him in the barn with the others one night after seeing him laying out in the field and watching the moon. The attempt failed miserably though as soon as Leafbreeze got within a few feet of him his large horns started to glow. The electricity was cracking and sparking across his horns, fizzing in and out of the round bone like structure in the middle. Leafbreeze quickly backed away hands raised trying to show she was no threat to him. He snorted much like a deerling would at her and turned back to the moon high and bright in the sky. Leafbreeze got the sense of heartache and loneliness watching him, she wondered where or what he saw on the face of the moon. She backed away, but from then on she kept a large bunch of hey on the edge of the field where the moon hung dead center each night. Garath became a little more friendly after that, even letting Ged or some of the other hatchlings play on his horns.
