Description The Fimir were wild and numerous. While their crude cudgels were no match for her sacred Crest Sword, they did outmatch her in size and raw strength. Celia Daulius swept the sweat from her brow before she raised her blade once more. She was not worried about their clubs and bone shields, her sword cutting through those like a knife through warm butter. But the maces and battle axes, made of solid steel, were another story. Her blade was forged from mystical steel and would not break easily, but it would be careless and unbecoming to allow the sacred weapon to even get damaged. Not by those ... revolting brutes. Celia shouted a battle cry, as the next wave of Fimir charged at her. Avoiding to be cornered by jumping over them, she rotated in mid-air to land behind and facing them. The brutes reated too slow, stumbling into each other, she cut them down in no time. Fimir, they were crude and unspeakably plain! There was no finesse to their ways of fighting, just brute strength and unrivaled ferocity. The air glinted as Celia worked her Elven Magic. A sudden gust of air, summoned at her will, sent another group toppling over. A smirk crossed the Elven Queen's face, but it quickly froze when she examined her surroundings. There were still dozens of Fimir left and ... yes indeed, they had her surrounded! It would be a fight to the finish! Her smirk turned into a snarl. Talk about being trapped between a rock and a hard place! If she died here, how would that look? The High-Queen of St. Gipfelheim killed by Fimir of all things? It would tarnish her legacy forever! Not to mention, the Fimir would probably eat her remains! The thought was abhorrent! Getting captured would be even worse, though! She knew all too well what Fimir did to their prisoners. A fate way worse than death, indeed! So she had to win this battle! Win against dozens of Fimir, all by her lonesome ...
A piercing scream reached her ear from across the battlefield. Followed by the sound of steel cutting flesh and the gargling death roar of several Fimir warriors. The momentary distraction would otherwise likely cost her her life, but the Fimir wouldn't capitalize, being distracted themselves. The crowd separated, revealing a sight for sore eyes. Lyn Dragona, her mighty Dragonheart mastersword in hand, marching across the battlefield, leaving a trail of blood, gore and destruction in her wake. The Fimir caught themselves rather quickly, their surprise turning to fury. Roaring, they slapped their clubs against their shields, making a huge ruckus. Fearless they threw themselves at the approaching Amazon Queen. Then again, perhaps they were just too stupid to be afraid. Lyn swung her huge sword in a circle, repelling her assailants in an instant. Some weren't fast enough, as the Dragonheart drew blood. At least one even lost an arm. Still, the onslaught continued and Lyn had to fight back harder and harder to keep the beastmen at bay. Celia rushed to her aid, again performed an acrobatic jump and casted a spell in mid-air.
The next time the field thinned out, the two mighty warrior queens stood united, their backs pressed against each other, among a sea of recovering adversaries. It was not lost on Celia that, for all the years she had known Lyn now, this marked the first time they had actually battled together like this. Verily, there had been other battles before this one, but never just the two of them, back-to-back, fighting overwhelming odds like fairytale heroes. Allowing herself a slight smile, she pressed even closer to Lyn, leaning back to whisper in her friend's ear.
"I welcome thy aid, Lyn! Yet I do not require it!"
Lyn snorted.
"Forsooth! I did not think thou in peril, Celia! I thought thou a scoundrel ... for not sharing the delight of battle with me!"
Celia couldn't help but smile, turning around to look at her friend for the shortest of moments. The Fimir immediately charged ... but they had both expected that! Detaching themselves from one another, they engaged in a counter attack. The brutish enemies falling under their divine blades. They fended this wave off just like they had done before. However, just when they were about to break through, the Fimir recovered and closed in once more. Celia cussed under her breath and backed away. The Fimir now showed actual signs of strategy, trying to get behind her to attack her unprotected back. Celia noticed and backflipped out of the line of fire, landing just a few feet away from Lyn, who was also still fighting. A Fimir, who had actually managed to sneak up on the amazon in the heat of battle, died to Celia's Crest Sword. Lyn acknowledged that with a quick, sharp nod. They both knew this little rescue would later be a topic of conversation between them. But just as Celia allowed herself to look forward to that little debate, Lyn struck past her, piercing a Fimir that had approached from the side, moving through Celia's blind spot. The Elven Queen stared at the beast for a moment, as he fell to the floor, first gargling, then dead. Her eyes met Lyn's in a moment of silent understanding. Verily, she could just see the wag in her friend's piercing green eyes. Whirling around, their blades raised once again, they returned to their previous back-to-back position. Pressing together, Celia could feel Lyn's breathing. It started to get heavy. They would have to finish the fight soon or else the tides might turn. The remaining Fimir surrounded them, closing like a wall of smelly flesh.
"Look at them! Unregenerate degenerates!", Lyn snarled.
"I will need a long, hot flower bath, once we are done here!", Celia responded.
That drew a chuckle from Lyn.
"Still a mollycoddle, I see!"
Celia pulled a face. She would take it out on the Fimir. Only about two dozen more to go!

Just felt like giving this a little write-up, as it is such a great, badass image!
Definitely will also make this a scene in Into The Multiverse.
Hope you like it!
