Another "Holy cow! Not Inuyasha!" piece. There are actually a few on the way, but this is one I've wanted to do for a long time. Good ol' Spike of Cowboy Bebop. Amazing series, if you're not familiar.Medium - 3B graphite with a touch of 6B

The more I look at this, the more it grows on me. The hair is just wonderful - I find myself wanting reach out an smooth little strands of it. And of course, he'd hate that, would he?
Funny, when I went to high school in the late 70's, a lot of guys had hair very similar to this.
And ~Draith 's comment about the eyes, yes, I can totally see that. The reminder changed my perspective a bit.

Nice piece. Interesting style you have, or at least you choose interesting subjects for your medium. I never imagioned spike in realism. Non the less you truly did a great job.

You've captured him so well! You obviously have general talent for this, since you can do so well with more than Inuyasha characters.
The hair is simply beautiful. That must have taken you a great deal of time and patience, to get that much texture into all of his swirling locks.
The expression is very Spike... relaxed, looking off at something we don't see... something we CAN'T see, due to his double sight. Lovely.

Hope you don't mind a little constructive criticism. I LOOOVE the hair first of all and everything is beautiful, but the nose just doesn't quite look like spik... Don't know why, but I mean, other then that its SOOO gorgeous.

I love it! With the very relaxed pose you have him in, and the cigarette in his hand, he feels like Spike. And I'm in awe of the hair! That's just....insane! I think I might have been tempted to give up half-way, if it were me.
I can't wait to see more of your non-Inuyasha stuff, even though that's what you're known for. I enjoy seeing your take on other characters.

Now this is quite an awesome piece, one that I find really impressive by many aspects. The most definitive and striking feature would be the hands. I really like the way you can capture so much detail with such a relaxed pose. Those hands work really well, and if you were to erase everything else behind it, I would still be able to recognize the hand. It has the easy flowing gesture of Spike's movements, and carries his personality.
Next up is the hair. The hair is very effective, and gives volume to what is only given a shape post of the time. It has great detail, and awesome texture and highlighting work. I feel like I can run my fingertips through it, making it seem like it'll jump off the page.
Lastly, the facial construction is good but the eye on the left (or Spike's right) seems a bit squished inward. The distance from the nose to the right (or his left) eye is different from the other.
This is definitely one of your strongest drawings, and I just had to comment on it.
