In 1995, divers found a crewman's body, facedown on the lakebed pinned under a giant piece of debris near the starboard bow of the ship. The body was wearing a life jacket. Later that year, 2 or 3 more bodies were found at the bottom of a staircase inside the pilothouse. So sad. They were only just a few miles from safe harbor too. RIP
