Description A beautiful color map of the World of Five Nations, from a soon-to-be-published series of book I've been working on. More info on that soon enough. I designed the map and the names of the locations, while a friend of mine rendered it in Photoshop.

I'm kinda having trouble understanding what you're saying, but are you asking me to draw a map for you? Β

Well, I can draw maps, but I wasn't the one who colored this one. Β And I'd have to charge for my work, since it's a commission.

Well, unfortunately, I'm very busy at the moment. Β I'm writing stories, looking for a job, and working on a webcomic, so any artwork I do for others will have to be for pay. Β

I'd like to point out a few geographic problems, starting with the rivers. Some of them flow from one ocean to another ocean without ever having any head waters. Also, the paler brown often next to the darker mountain brown: is that desert or hills? If it is desert, you have a river on the one of the southern island groups starting in the middle of a desert. That particular desert should be on the other side of the mountains anyways, judging by the wind-shadow placement of the other deserts. Marshes should generally be located by rivers and lakes. You should probably make sure that all the rivers flow downhill. It seems like several of them are flowing uphill through mountains, while beginning on the plains. A good rule of thumb is to mark the "backbones" of your land areas, where elevation is highest, and direct the rivers constant away from them. A marker of the tropics would allow us to see how much of the world you are showing, or some other indication of the size of the landmasses would be great.

Your map is otherwise very cool. Please don't take offense at my comments, but it's best to get those geographic inconsistencies fixed pre-publication.

Unfortunately, I lost contact with the person who did the coloring. And the map is already inked, so I couldn't redraw it if I wanted to. Also, this world is a world where magic is prevalent, and is very old, and still bears the effects of powerful magic used in its ancient past. And in some places, climates are magically maintained.

No offense taken, though. Your insight will be helpful if I have to make another map.

Okay map but sometimes the text is way hard to read.

Yeah, I know. That was the only problem I had with it.

You could always try doing the names first (before inking the rest), then having small breaks in the things below where they would touch the text and I mean really small.

Unfortunately, I wasn't the one who did the coloring or words of the map. I have no skills with photoshop.
