Description
The System of Alpha Centauri, second furthest from Sol within the Coalition. Long ago, during some of the first wars against the Imperial Monarchy, the mostly-independent Alpha Centauri began a massive insurgency campaign and outright rebellion, backed heavily by the Coalition's enemy in the Galactic East. It was swift, painful, and vicious- but the combined forces of the then-named Coalition of Sol wiped the resistance groups out in near-entirety, and put the entire system under the direct control of the strongest nations within the coalition, although the Russians found themselves with nought but a few tiny satellites in the wake of their economic riptide of the old Interplanetary war.
The planetoid in the nearest belt to Centauri- "Havaldi"- went to direct control of the Coalition, a military station and mining body
The largest planet in the system- the Gas-giant "Mingmai" and its three major moons- "Jianshe zhe", "Jingwei", and "Huanying zhe"- went to the People's Republic of China
The closest planet to Centauri, Sykvad, went to the Ukrainians, an unlivable but mineral-rich planetary body with two moons; one livable and the other rich in rare heavy metals- "Dovhota" and "Korotkyy"
In the wider asteroid belt, there are two planetoids, a planet, and a moon, the latter two in orbit of Proxima Centauri. The latter planetoid- "Daleko"- and the planet-moon combo- "Korvi" and "Sudnoverf"- are under ukrainian control, the planet being livable; the former planetoid is under Indian control, being livable with underground colonies and aboveground greenhouses and mirrors due to it's strong magnetosphere.
Finally, the farthest two planets and their moons are under NATO control, the largest of which, with two moons- known as "Deuxieme Maison", "Vulpin", and "Nouvelle Lumiere"- being a french colony world and moon, with Lumiere being a major port in the system. The smaller planet and it's single moon- "Shin Tokyo" and "Sumorumausu"- are the only major Japanese extrasolar colonies, and are some of the richest planets in the system.
