Description Drawn with pencil in a notebook during class, around 2007, Apr 24th.

A D&D style Red Dragon (probably a rather young one, considering its size) standing tall and intending on defending its grounds against a griffin (did I spell it right?...). The dragon might seem like it is just about to unleash its fire breath, and I wanted the griffin to look like it just decided to back off right a second ago (hence its wings in the downward position, as if it would want to further the distance between the two, yet the claws are still in front... or maybe the claws are already in some defensive motion... Hmm.)

Criticism is always appreciated.

It's good. And you spelled "griffin" just fine. Other times it's "gryphon." But at least "griffin" is easier to spell and remember.

i can see the red winning this fight, the griffon is smaller so hes probobly faster than a huge red dragon so he might escape

Looks like the dragon is going to win. He's in the perfect position to strike. Anyway, this picture is really amazing. You are very talented with pencil art. Great work!

What catches my eye most is the very fine pencil line and shading work you have here. So what class was this? It certainly did good for you! Yeah, the griffin's forelegs are kinda stiff, but mostly because they don't show enough muscle contour. Now the dragon's left forelimb is also in an awkward pose, since he is obviousl defending, I think it should be bent more, and probably raised in an action pose. Still, a darned fine pic! You were carefull enough to include the griffin's hind feet though they are mostly obscured by the wing--a good touch.

You have a very fine, tight drawing style. The griffon's feet look a bit stiff to me, but then again, what kind of limbs a griffon has is always up for debate.

By the way, I appreciate the fav.

Yes, the feet seem stiff or rigid or at least a bit queer, just didn't really know what else pose I could try...

Thank you very much for the comment!
