Description It’s the 20th anniversary of one of the most popular programs on Nickelodeon, The Fairly OddParents! Fairly OddParents was created by Elmer Hartman a.k.a. Butch Hartman. Butch grew up in Michigan, but he eventually went to CAL Arts. In the 1990’s Butch Hartman was hired by Hanna-Barbera. There are some people that used to work at Hanna Barbera besides Butch Hartman including Genndy Tartakovsky, Seth MacFarlane, and Craig McCracken. Butch Hartman began working on Nickelodeon in 1998. In 2001 Butch Hartman created the Fairly OddParents. It’s about a 10-year-old boy named Timmy turner who’s assigned by two fairy god parents, Cosmo and Wanda. It is their job to grant wishes to make Timmy turner happy. When the Fairly OddParents had first aired in 2001, it was a major hit for Nickelodeon, lots and lots of viewers, and lots of lots of money for the network. The 2000’s was the golden age for the Fairly OddParents. But surprisingly, The Fairly OddParents was canceled for five times! The new character, Poof arrived in Season 6. In 2013, the Fairly OddParents began suffering of franchise fatigue. Franchise fatigue is a large problem for longest running cartoon TV shows. Nobody loves franchise fatigue, but franchise fatigue is sadly common. Other longest running cartoon TV shows that suffered the same problem, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Family Guy, South Park, Arthur, and The Simpsons. Timmy was sadly flanderized. The new character, Sparky arrived in season nine to give you words the attention. But the viewers disliked the new character, so Sparky was removed from the show. The final change for the Fairly OddParents was Chloe arrived in Season 10. Season 10 had first aired in 2016 as the 15th anniversary of the Fairly OddParents. Like Sparky, the viewers disliked Chloe. Season 10 was the last season for the Fairly OddParents. There are three reasons of the Fairly OddParents had ended in 2017 with a 16 year run is because... One. Franchise Fatigue. It’s simply went for too long and ran out of ideas. Two. Executive meddling. The businessmen of Nickelodeon kept poking the show with a stick, and hopes and making more money and increasing the ratings for the network. And three. The death of television. Technology is changing, and TV is being replaced by the Internet. Kids don’t watch TV anymore. They watch YouTube and Netflix. After 20 years of service, Butch left Nickelodeon in 2018, and he is no longer a creator of a cartoon TV shows.

Yeah, I am not interested with Sparky. But I like Chloe, she’s cute. But I’m disappointed that The Fairly OddParents ended. Do you know who else was disappointed that The Fairly OddParents ended? Peter, Stewie, and Brian Griffin from Family Guy.
