Will O' Wisp is the son of Luna and Discord, but not biologically. In fact, he's not biologically related to anyone. Unable to produce their own child due to a worry of imbalance of the world's power, Luna traveled into the Dream World and willed the pony to be created, a child that she always wanted. She started molding him, but he took over most of the way, creating himself to be a young earth pony foal. Giving him the power to control fire as his own little gift, Discord used his own powers to bring the foal into the real world. From there, he was raised as a normal foal, but never felt at ease in the protective palace in Canterlot. Giving up his title as prince, he now travels the world, only coming back to Equestria for a week at a time. He's easily flexible, thoughtful, but once he sets his mind to something, he never backs down. He's very protective over the ones he loves. As proof, he has scars on his face from defending Canterlot from a dragon. He's a total magnet for mares, but fails to realize this.
